I
cannot express enough how much the web and the virtual artist community have
helped me to improve my skills as well as gave me that little nudge to go out
there and market my ability. If it weren't for the www I'd still be drawing my
little pictures in the safety of my home and stuffing them in the dark corners
of the basement...
Here
are some links that have taught me, inspired me and entertained me. Enjoy them:

Drawing
Together Discussion List
The best list for
a drawing artist under the sun. It is not really a list, but a community
of caring people committed to helping each other improve their art as well
as their lives. I could not survive without all of my friends here! |
| Art of Diane Wright Diane is a phenomenal graphite artist who creates magical drawings of old barns, buildings and landscapes and captures their charm and mystique on paper. She is also working on her first book - one of the Walter Foster series, due out soon. |
Equine
Art Guild
For any equine artist this community will teach, support, entertain and
and, above all, inspire! I am eternally grateful I've found them. I would
love to include all of the artists from this list here, but there are
simply too many. Please check their work on the EAG site. |
Toad
Hollow Studio For animal lovers
especially, Carol Rosinski has a wonderful compilation of tips and tutorials and
drawings with stunning detail. I especially adore her hen, Alice. I
have also learned valuable lessons on how to draw cats from her. |

Mike
Sibley Fine Art Mike creates
breathtaking natural scenes focused around dogs and hunting. His drawings are so
painstakingly detailed and realistic, they seem to take on a life of their own.
I'm sure he feels the same way when he creates them. Mike has also told me about
the best "eraser" I've ever purchased: wall putty! This site is a must
to check out! |
Todd
Junck
Todd is an excellent and diversified artist. I
especially enjoy the drawing "Packing Out" in his western and wildlife art
section. He is a valued contributor to the Drawing Together list. |

J.
D. Hillberry In the tradition of the
late M. C. Escher, J. D. will take your senses for a wild ride! His technique is
to be envied. He creates such realistic scenes one cannot tell what is real and
what is drawing on a piece of paper. |

Sketches By Bethany Another member of Drawing Together list, Bethany amazes me with her speed and accuracy. Please view her portrait as well as her animal pages. She has some beautiful work displayed! |
![]() Robertson Studios Michelle, although skilled in drawing people as well as animals, has a wonderful collection of baby and child portraits. She portrays their energy and character with mastery. Please check them out! |

Rebecca
Kramer Art
Rebecca has to be one of the
most creative and prolific artists I know. She creates wonderful stamp
designs but her talents do not end there. She is also an illustrator, a
sculptor, a painter and knows how to draw pretty well. Visit her
site, you won't be disappointed! |
| John Baselmans John has a bountiful collection of art in a multitude of techniques and styles. The way he mixes different media in one piece of art is absolutely phenomenal! I've visited many times and find I have to come back because you cannot see and absorb everything in one visit. A real treat. |
| Lee
Hammond Lee is an exceptional
artist who shares her technique in a number of wonderful books. I own two of
them. If it weren't for Lee, I'd probably never gather enough nerve to start
drawing portraits. |
| Celebrity Portraits By Paul Wilkinson Paul Wilkinson has an impressive collection of celebrity portraits. He doesn't know it but he, through his on-line tutorials, has helped me greatly to finally figure out how to draw realistic hair. Thank you, Paul! |
